Eagle Eye comes out tomorrow folks! I am excited to see it. Looks pretty good and I have my theories on the movie’s plot thought out. Hopefully my theories are wrong and I am treated to a big twist ending I never see coming.
One of the greatest marketing tatics a movie can do is launch viral sites that throw the viewer into the world of the movie. The Dark Knight launched multiple viral sites, and it helped get fans even more excited for the movie’s release. Eagle is doing the same with their website “Eagle Eye: Free Fall”.
Free Fall throws you into the set of an innocent victim who is being taken control of via phone by this mysterious eagle eye system / company / organization. The site uses your cell phone to connect you with another “asset” (that is what they call you) in order to stop him from running.
I can’t describe it all that well, but trust me, you have to check it out.
The enthusiasm these people have for Kirby is ridiculous. I like Kirby as much as the next guy, but I don’t think I would be confessing my love for him on TV.
“OMG, I Just love Kirby. He is so soft and cuddly. I have a Kirby pillow that I take to bed with me every night and F#*@ the $&%# out of it while sticking a pineapple (interview cuts off)”
*Back to Joe Reporter*
“*blank stare* Thank you Rob! For those delightful comments….”
Anyway, check out these awesome “FLOGO!” Kirby foam clouds that were released in massive numbers across the skies of Albama. Expect the alien reports to flood the 911 call center for weeks to come after this PR show.
I am using Google’s browser Chrome as I type. At first it was a bit weird for me cause I am so used to the clutter of toolbars. I opened up chrome and I thought to myself “WHERE ARE ALL THE BUTTONS?! I NEED MY BUTTONS! OH GOD WHY!”. After the panicking stopped, I managed to setup my bookmarks that helped me calm down greatly.

Now for the good and bad section.
The Good
The page loading times do seem a second or two faster.
Pages do not seem to lock up as much when it comes to scrolling
The actual default page viewing dimensions are so big, it made me feel like my montior grew an extra inch.
The loading animations in the tabs area are slick.
Download manager seems to be pretty smooth and not annoying.
Incognito allows you to view pages without saving history.
The design is extremely lite and easy to read (history pages and such, not the UI).
Element inspector is a good tool from a web developer standpoint.
The Chrome homepage captures your history and post actual images of recent sites you have visited.
The words chrome make me want to use it because I chrome everything I own.
The Bad
The bare UI is bad for those who might need help setting up their browser tools. Icons aren’t for everoyne. Old people like words.
No first time start up walk through.
No search engine bar at the top.
I don’t see any popup blocker.
Being that it is BETA, there are no plugins available from 3rd party developers. Plugins are an essential tool for my day to day browsing, but I am sure developers are already drooling at Chrome and we will soon see what wonder it truly holds.
For now, I would say that Chrome isn’t my 1st choice of browser due to lacking everything besides basic browsing and enhanced browser features. I will still rock on with Firefox, but I can see Chrome replacing that some day if it plays it’s cards right. Just wait for developers to start adding useful tools, then we will have something worth using.

Google Launches it’s new browser ‘Chrome’ today in it’s first public beta.
Free for everyone to try at this address. It looks like a pretty clean get-up. Google offers a faster, more streamlined web experience with less clutter and a smaller memory footprint to boot. Featuring a new Java engine built by a development team in Denmark and open source so other browsers may incorporate it (if it gets big, which i think it will based on whats stated), Chrome is one of those colors that is looking better than ever!
Here is a video explaining some of the new features in Googles Browser: Chrome

(Sorry for the lack of photos. We will post more soon, along with a hands on impression.)
I am pretty sure once I start playing Fable II, I will be spending most of my time fending off my Loan Shark’s chronies because I am so far in debt that I might as well change my name to Turkish. I am jumping from town to town just to stay low and off the radar.
Now the guys over at Lion Head Studios have announced that more Fable board games will be released. The games will be web based games, so no downloading from the Xbox Market place. The web games will reward you with special prizes and coins. Not word on how the prizes will be transfered to your character, but I assume the games will be hosted on Lion Head Studio’s website which will connect to the game, or all the prizes will have some sort of pass code that will need to be entered in the game to redeem. Who knows…
No details on how many games will be released, or how they will play.
All I know is that I will be stealing hair style cards and wardrobes so I am not recognized the next time I am in Bowerstone North.
I have often wondered what it would be like to run away from a crimson head zombie while carrying 2 shot guns, 1 machine gun, a 4 barrel rocket launcher, and a load of herbs and puzzle keys. Jill Valentine and loads of other game avatars always make it look soooooo easy.
Two guys set out to physically race across the world of Azeroth in World of Warcraft by connecting their treadmills to a wheel mouse. What’s even better is that they dress up in their warrior costumes. The video is good for a laugh. Note the “Sponsored by Mana” promo.

I would like to see your stereotypical WoW player trying this out.
Nintendo is already getting ideas and calling up Miyamoto on this one.
This has to be one of the coolest ads I have seen. I thought it was all real until the the little steps came out. Take a look.

Makes me wonder though…did they draw a little inspiration from the iPhone 3G ad. They have similar ideas. A really sweet box opening up to reveal your touch screen phone.

I like Omnia’s better of course. To bad the tiny girls had to explodey. They would have been sweet to keep around and cheer me up when I run out of Count Chocula cereal. They could come out of a little barbie house I bought for them, and do a little Sing & Dance number.
In spirit of Fay passing over my state, and mass hysteria at my local grocery store, I find it only fitting to post a bunch of storm related videos. The first video might seem funny (because it is) but apparently the guy got seriously hurt, so don’t go thinking it’s a good idea to strap yourself to a kit mid hurricane. The second a rather slow video of a truck traveling down a road during a hurricane.
Strong Bad has a game out. Did you know that? I knew about it..kinda…like I heard about it…kinda….
It is called “Strong Bad’s Cool Game for Attractive People“. Maybe Strong Bad didn’t think I was attractive enough to play his game and that is why I “kinda” knew about the game.
The video below follows Strong Bad on his first day at the Telltale Games office.
I don’t know what Strong Bad is complaing about, his office was sweet. It just needs a furnace with a fire inside that grows as his anger level rises. Perfect for a “shift manager”.
Gemini Division is a new web series produced by and starring Sin City / Clerks 2 actress, Rosario Dawson. The series revolves a New York detective named Anna Diaz who uncovers a conspiracy involving “simulated life forms that have assimilated with the unsuspecting public”. Whatever the hell that means…
So far only 2 episodes have been released. Take a look.
Episode 1
Episode 2
Here are my thoughts on it.
The good: An interesting new web series that I can watch any time, starring the Rosario Dawson and the Green Arrow. Promises of government conspiracies and sci-fi elements. It’s almost like that screen play you wrote in study hall back in 11th grade.
The bad: What is it about low budget movies / tv shows that make even decent actors look like noobs. Rosario’s performance screams fake to me. The bad green screen backgrounds don’t make the show even semi believable. I don’t need to see Paris in order to think you’re in Paris. Just sit in a hotel room and say “hey, we’re in Paris!”. I am a gullible man, I will believe your crazy alien show takes place in Paris. The worst part is the Windows Mobile product placement. The WHOLE FREAKING SHOW IS NOTHING BUT A PRODUCT PLACEMENT!
The show is set to release 50 mini episodes online.
