New Watchmen Trailer - For Non Watchmen Readers

A brand new trailer hit the interwebz last night for the upcoming Watchmen movie. I believe this trailer will spike the interest of people who don’t know what Watchmen is. One of my friends said the 1st trailer didn’t look that great because there was no real plot introduced to the audience.

It looks great. With Rorschach almost narrorating the trailer, it gives a good idea of what the movie is about. I am also glad we got to see Dr. Manhattan (the blue glowy guy) talk. I was curious to see how his voice sounded. Surprisngly it sounds normal. I was expecting sone kinda echo voice or high and low mixed together.

6 New Watchmen Posters Worthy of Your Movie Hall

Worthy of a movie hall indeed, that is if you have a movie hall. I don’t, but I really want a secret cave I can duck into when I am looking to relax and watch a movie.  Within this cave will be a long hallway with amazing movie posters that catch your eye. This hall will then lead upto the grotto. A cavernous water filled area with a giant movie screen and a few seats. Popcorn will be served by a sexy robot who dances to thriller on command and always knows where I left my car keys.

Ah yes, some day. Until then, I can always plan my movie poster collection that will be in the great hall, and these new Watchmen posters are definitely  gonna be among the select few.

Alan Moore Talks About Watchmen & Life

Alan Moore (writer of the Watchmen graphic novel and V for Vendetta) has been throwing curses on all movie adaptions of his work like a mad gypsy, and it is very sad because the Watchmen movie is looking like a true to form adaption.  If I was Watchmen director Zack Snyder, I would be a tiny bit depressed that all my hard work would not even be appreciated or seen by the one man it matters most to.

I mean Moore won’t even give it a chance. I have heard his reasons, but I still think it is a little ignorant. If at most, just call it fan art and give it a look. Haha!

“Oh yeah, that is ahhhhhh…pretty good…eerrmmm…nice job.”

Anyway, check out these videos below with Alan Moore talking about his personal opinions on Watchmen and life as we know it. The videos give an interesting perspective into the mind of Alan Moore.

Watchmen Video Journal

A new video journal has been released online for the Watchmen movie. The journal interviews the director of photography and various producers of the movie about how they captured the comic book essence and translated it into a movie. It doesn’t show a lot of exciting sneak peak scenes but you do get to see Dr. Manhattan in a weird TRON looking suit before he gets all CG’d up. He is all glowly and looks like the product of a unprotected one night stand between a human and a mother board.

Check it out.

Just a quick update on the Watchmen legal battle between WB and Fox. The first court date will be held January 6th, which is a lot sooner then the desired date Fox wanted (early summer). Hopefully this means we will still be getting our Watchmen fix on March 6th 2009 as WB promised.

Fox Says STFU To Watchmen Fans

Some of you may know, Fox is currently in a legal battle with Warner Bros over the distribution rights of Zack Synder’s upcoming Watchmen film.  There are many conspiracies going around, all of them could be true. Some say Fox is trying to delay Watchmen in order to boost sales for their upcoming Wolverine movie which happens to premier 1 week before Watchmen. Others say Fox has been sitting on Watchmen for years and now WB is finally doing something with it, they want to get their hands on the pie. Who knows why. Maybe it is over “just the rights” and this whole battle has been going on before the film was even green lit.

Whatever the case, Fox certainly isn’t improving their image. Fans are uniting, creating petitions, flaming up the forums, fasting, killing kittens, and playing Bubsy 3D in an attempt to have their angry cries of hate for Fox heard. Whats does Fox think?

They say go cry about it to WB, it is all their fault. Here is the official statement by Fox in EW Magazine.

“Of course we are concerned about the fans; however, any disappointment from the core fans should not be directed toward Fox. What we are doing is seeking to enforce our distribution rights to Watchmen. Legal copyright ownership should not just be swept under the rug and ignored.”

Ok so maybe it wasn’t a straight out “stop crying”, but my nerd brain is over loading with angst over the idea of Fox potentially ruining the Watchmen film that it tends to exagerate in order to back my own emotions.

So there you go. Sign your petitions and talk bad about Fox all you want, they just want what “rightfully belongs to them”, and there ain’t nothing you can do to try and stop em.

Watchmen - Rorschach Face Revealed

I have been quite curious to see what Jackie Haley (the actor who portrays Rorschach) will look like as Rorschach in the Watchmen movie. We know what he looks like with the mask on thanks to the trailers, but we have yet to see Rorschach with his mask off and Jackie Haley is a bald mousy looking fellow who doesn’t exactly fit Rorschach’s physical characteristics. Thanks to G4, we finally get to see what he looks like with the mask off.

Here is the video revealing Rorschach un-masked.

Detailed Watchmen Movie Posters

New Watchmen posters have been released, showing amazing detail compared to their original comic cover counter parts. Check it out.

They change the designs on the costumes a bit, but there is still an amazing amount of likeness in the new designs. I am kinda happy they kept out the Comedian’s gimp mask

Dr. Manhattan inside my computer, hacking my mother board.

Keep checking back for more Watchmen updates!

Watchmen: Making of the Owl Ship

Who is excited for the Watchmen movie? ME! ME! ME!

At Comic-Con, I got a chance to peek inside the Owl Ship, aka “Archie.” Very cool.

Yahoo has been documenting the production of the movie, and recently they put up a video that documents the process of creating Nite Owl’s ship, Archie. Check it out!

Maybe the guy who built the Batman’s Tumbler will construct Archie. One can dream.

New Watchmen Photos

Empire Magazine Online has posted 4 new photos from the Watchmen film, as well as their next magazine cover featuring the Watchmen. Check it out

Is it me, or do the giant “EMPIRE EXCLUSIVE” kinda ruin the picture? They should have just done a subtle logo placement in a corner at 50% opacity.

Comic-Con Photos & Video

Afro Samurai creator Takashi Okazaki. I got him to sign my CC collectors figures.

The weirdest thing I saw at the convention. It was a promotion for some comic. Apparently it fully operational.

The Nite Owl ship “Archie” was on display. It was amazing. Here is a look inside it.

Tom and I had a chance to play Castle Crashers by The Behemoth. I didn’t want the demo to end.

Left to Right, Rob, Myself (Also Rob), and Tom at the Hard Rock Cafe. Shortly after the Joker impaled us with sporks.

Comic-Con wanna be cool fictional personality Bob $tencil. He asked me why I wore the bear head. I told him about my abusive child hood and how I took refugee the bear life.

Yuri Lowenthal, the english voice of Kuma (the character I dressed up as) from Afro Samurai. I didn’t know it was him until he asked to take a picture and I asked him if he knew who my character was. Another great moment.

Side Show Collectibles Hellboy showcase, Big Baby.
