League of Legends - Clash of Fates

As I read updates on Kotaku like I always do, I read a small spurt of Riot Games- About how this company came about, just started not too long ago, being young and new, and with a pretty good resume to be honest. We have Guinsoo who players of DotA (A custom map games in WarCraft 3) is part of a new game by Riot. They call it, League of Legends - Clash of Fates (or what I’d like to call it ‘LoL’). Well, the community calls it that too.

League of Legends (LoL) brings about a new type of game. It’s not quite a RTS, though controlled like it, and it’s not quite like an RPG or MMORPG, though it states that it will incorporate MMO functionality.

“League of Legends will bring gamers competitive battle-arena style gameplay that builds upon and expands on innovative gameplay concepts that were pioneered in DotA-Allstars, one of the most popular mods of all time,” Brandon Beck, co-founder and CEO, Riot Games, said. “The team is applying its expertise and passion to producing a game that fuses premium art and gameplay features with deep community tools.”

There you have it, a short blurb of the co-founder and CEO of Riot Games. I would say their razor statement for this game would probably be:

In the online multi-player session-based game, rival teams will compete against one another for victory on highly stylized battlefields and landscapes. The title combines elements of role-playing and strategy genres with addictive battle action that brings accessible, re-playable, competitive gameplay into a whimsical universe that deepens with the player’s commitment.”

I state, all quotes are taken from the League of Legends forum.

All upcoming images are property of Riot Games. Go to LoL for more images. I’m here promoting their game, because I am a big fan of the DotA (Defense of the Ancient) map in WarCraft3; and I think this will be an awesome game. I enjoy such a game.

For those of you who have never heard, seen, or played DotA, it’s very much like WC3, because it is a map in WC3, and you just play a hero and there’s two side to each map and it’s just trying to attack each others’ “base.” It’s an arena battle, and your character doesn’t “grow” through each play, rather, it’s each play, you grow your individual character, so there’s no long hours of grinding like WoW. What’s been said though is that you could possibly have characters that you personally enjoy and grow them, but it won’t be big numbers that would make you extreme, it’s probably just someone you enjoy playing and it’s just a boost. Then again, it’s already an enjoyable game. Go on and sign up for the beta. Tell them Axsynth (that’s my name for the gaming community) from NerdFellowship send you.

To be completely honest, I would love to be a part of their team, being a part of that game; even if I were to intern there, I would pick up my stuff and go there for the experience and for the job and definitely for being someone who wants to be  a part of a game design team. Maybe when I’m a little older and have better stuff as my resume and better things to show, then I’d apply for it, if I never start in a company myself.

More pictures to come…

That’s all folks, hope you check them out.
